Description

Bannann Peze are crispy double-fried plantains, a popular dish in Haitian cuisine.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe plantains
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel the plantains and slice them diagonally into thick pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Fry the plantain slices for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  5. Using a flat surface, flatten each fried plantain slice.
  6. Return the flattened plantains to the hot oil and fry again for 2-3 minutes until crispy.
  7. Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  8. Sprinkle with salt and serve hot.
