Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan with butter or spray.
- Mix melted butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a bowl.
- Stir in cocoa powder, 1/2 cup flour, and salt to finish the brownie batter.
- Spread this batter into the bottom of your prepared pan.
- Cream softened butter, brown sugar, and 1/4 cup white sugar in a separate bowl.
- Beat in one egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
- Mix in 1 1/4 cups flour and baking soda until a dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
- Place small spoonfuls of the cookie dough over the brownie batter layer.
- Bake for 35 minutes until the top turns golden brown.
- Let the bars cool completely before you slice them.

- Use a metal pan for crisper edges.
