Delicious cookies with a nutty flavor from brown butter and a hint of umami from miso.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup miso paste
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until browned.
- In a bowl, mix the brown butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and miso paste.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- You can use any type of chocolate chips.
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Allow the butter to cool slightly before mixing.
