Description
Crispy fried calamari served with a spicy marinara sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 pound calamari, cleaned and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Dredge calamari in the flour mixture.
- Fry calamari in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, heat marinara sauce and stir in crushed red pepper flakes.
- Serve calamari hot with spicy marinara on the side.
Notes
- Make sure the oil is hot enough for a crispy texture.
- Do not overcrowd the fryer.
- Garnish with parsley if desired.
