Description

A rich and moist chocolate cake with tahini, inspired by halva.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a cake pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk tahini and sugar until smooth.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla to the tahini mixture, mix well.
  6. Combine dry and wet ingredients, then add milk and boiling water.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool before serving.
