Description
Chorba Frik is a traditional Algerian soup made with crushed green wheat, meat, and spices.
Ingredients

- 400g lamb or beef, diced
- 200g frik (crushed green wheat)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 potato, diced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 liters water
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, sauté the onion until golden.
- Add the diced meat and brown on all sides.
- Mix in the tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Stir in the frik, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
Notes
- Adjust spices according to your taste.
- Serve hot with bread.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
