Ingredients

  • 500g minced mutton
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a pan, cook the onions and garlic until soft.
  3. Add the minced mutton and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the carrots, peas, tomato paste, broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Simmer for 15 minutes until thickened.
  6. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes until tender, then mash with milk and butter.
  7. Spread the mutton mixture in a baking dish.
  8. Top with mashed potatoes and smooth the surface.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
