Description
These heart-shaped macarons are delicate French cookies filled with a sweet filling.
Ingredients
- Almond flour – 1 cup
- Powdered sugar – 1 cup
- Egg whites – 3 large
- Granulated sugar – 1/4 cup
- Food coloring – red
- Butter – 1/2 cup (for filling)
- Powdered sugar – 1 cup (for filling)
- Vanilla extract – 1 tsp (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar.
- In another bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
- Gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Add food coloring and mix gently.
- Fold the almond mixture into the egg whites.
- Pipe heart shapes onto a baking sheet.
- Let them sit for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Allow to cool before filling.
- Prepare the filling by mixing butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
- Pipe filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich with the other half.
Notes
- Ensure egg whites are at room temperature.
- Let macarons cool completely before filling.
- Store in an airtight container.
