Description

Hibiscus Bissap is a refreshing Senegalese drink made from dried hibiscus flowers.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • Juice of 2 lemons

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot.
  2. Add dried hibiscus flowers and mint leaves.
  3. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  5. Strain the mixture into a pitcher.
  6. Add sugar and lemon juice. Stir well.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
  8. Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves.
