Description
Inarizushi is a Japanese dish consisting of sushi rice wrapped in sweet, marinated tofu pockets.
Ingredients

- 2 cups sushi rice
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 10 inari age (fried tofu pouches)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
Instructions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves.
- Pour the mixture over the inari age and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Once the rice is cooked, let it cool slightly and fluff it with a fork.
- Fill each inari pouch with sushi rice, pressing gently to pack it in.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top of the rice.
- Serve immediately or chill before serving.
Notes
- You can add vegetables or protein to the rice for more flavor.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Inarizushi is best served fresh.
