Description
A traditional Japanese sweet made from roasted soybean flour and glutinous rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup glutinous rice flour
- 1/4 cup kinako (roasted soybean flour)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- Potato starch for dusting
Instructions
- Mix glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water in a bowl until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a heatproof dish.
- Steam for 20-25 minutes until the mixture is translucent.
- Let it cool slightly before removing from the dish.
- Dust your hands with potato starch and knead the mochi gently.
- Divide into small pieces and shape as desired.
- Roll each piece in kinako to coat.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.
- Serve as a snack or dessert.
