Description

A traditional Japanese sweet made from roasted soybean flour and glutinous rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • 1/4 cup kinako (roasted soybean flour)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Potato starch for dusting

Instructions

  1. Mix glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into a heatproof dish.
  3. Steam for 20-25 minutes until the mixture is translucent.
  4. Let it cool slightly before removing from the dish.
  5. Dust your hands with potato starch and knead the mochi gently.
  6. Divide into small pieces and shape as desired.
  7. Roll each piece in kinako to coat.
