- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a saucepan.
- Remove from heat and stir in sugar and vanilla.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Sift together flour, cocoa, and salt, then fold into the mixture.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still gooey.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- This cake tastes better the next day.
