Description

Kofte are traditional Turkish meatballs made with ground meat and spices, served with rice.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups rice
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well and form into small balls.
  3. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and cook the meatballs until browned on all sides.
  4. In another pot, bring water to a boil and add rice.
  5. Cover and simmer until rice is cooked, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve meatballs over rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped parsley to the meat mixture.
  • Serve with yogurt or a salad on the side.
