Description
Medfouna is a traditional Berber stuffed pizza or bread filled with a savory mix of ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g flour
- 300ml water
- 10g salt
- 20g yeast
- 200g ground meat
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix flour, water, yeast, and salt to form a dough.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic.
- Add ground meat, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until meat is browned.
- Divide dough into two parts and roll out each part.
- Place the meat mixture on one rolled-out dough and cover with the other.
- Seal the edges and roll out gently.
- Fry in a hot pan until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- You can add vegetables to the meat mixture for extra flavor.
- Serve with a side of salad or yogurt.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
