Description

Medfouna is a traditional Berber stuffed pizza or bread filled with a savory mix of ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g flour
  • 300ml water
  • 10g salt
  • 20g yeast
  • 200g ground meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, water, yeast, and salt to form a dough.
  2. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
  3. In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic.
  4. Add ground meat, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until meat is browned.
  5. Divide dough into two parts and roll out each part.
  6. Place the meat mixture on one rolled-out dough and cover with the other.
  7. Seal the edges and roll out gently.
  8. Fry in a hot pan until golden brown on both sides.
  9. Serve warm.
