Description

Moroccan Trid is a traditional dish made with layers of thin bread, meat, and spices.


Ingredients

  • 2 pieces of Moroccan flatbread
  • 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp saffron threads
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a pot, heat oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
  2. Add chicken pieces and brown on all sides.
  3. Mix in spices and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes until chicken is cooked.
  6. While chicken cooks, prepare the flatbread by warming it.
  7. Layer the flatbread with chicken and sauce.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.

Notes

  • Trid can also be made with lamb.
  • Adjust spices to your taste.
  • Serve with a side of salad.
