Description

Delicious Neapolitan Sugar Cookie Bars with layered chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup strawberry puree
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Divide the dough into three equal parts.
  7. Mix cocoa powder into one part for the chocolate layer.
  8. Mix strawberry puree into another part for the strawberry layer.
  9. Leave the third part plain for the vanilla layer.
  10. Layer the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry dough in a greased baking pan.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Let cool before cutting into bars and dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Best served chilled.
  • Can substitute strawberry puree with jam.
