Description
Omurice is a Japanese dish consisting of fried rice wrapped in a fluffy omelette.
Ingredients

- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup chicken, diced
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup peas and carrots
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add chicken and cook until browned.
- Stir in peas and carrots, cooking for another 2 minutes.
- Add rice, ketchup, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- In another pan, heat oil and pour in the egg mixture.
- Cook until the edges are set, then gently stir to form a soft omelette.
- Place the fried rice on one side of the omelette and fold it over.
- Serve hot, drizzled with extra ketchup if desired.
Notes
- You can use any leftover vegetables or proteins.
- Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
- For a richer flavor, add cheese to the omelette.
