Description

Omurice is a Japanese dish consisting of fried rice wrapped in a fluffy omelette.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup chicken, diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup peas and carrots
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add chicken and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in peas and carrots, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add rice, ketchup, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  7. In another pan, heat oil and pour in the egg mixture.
  8. Cook until the edges are set, then gently stir to form a soft omelette.
  9. Place the fried rice on one side of the omelette and fold it over.
  10. Serve hot, drizzled with extra ketchup if desired.
