Description

Omurice is a Japanese dish consisting of fried rice wrapped in an omelette and topped with a rich demiglace sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup cooked chicken, diced
  • 1/4 cup onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green peas
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup demiglace sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Sauté onions until translucent.
  3. Add cooked chicken and green peas; stir well.
  4. Add rice, ketchup, soy sauce, salt, and pepper; mix thoroughly.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
  6. In another pan, heat a little oil and pour in the beaten eggs to make an omelette.
  7. Once the omelette is cooked, place the fried rice in the center and fold the omelette over the rice.
  8. Transfer to a plate and top with demiglace sauce.

Notes
