Description
Pikliz is a spicy pickled cabbage slaw that adds a kick to any meal.
Ingredients

- 1 medium green cabbage, shredded
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 2–3 habanero peppers, sliced
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Shred the cabbage and grate the carrots.
- In a large bowl, combine cabbage and carrots.
- In a saucepan, mix vinegar, water, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
- Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cabbage and carrots.
- Add the sliced habanero peppers.
- Let it cool to room temperature.
- Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the number of peppers to control heat level.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month.
