- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
- 1/2 cup raspberry syrup (homemade or store-bought)
- 12 ounces of your favorite clear soda (e.g., Sprite, 7UP)
- 1/4 cup half-and-half or heavy cream
- Plenty of ice
- Fresh raspberries, for garnish
- A slice of lime or lemon, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Raspberry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine raspberries, sugar, and water. Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until sugar dissolves and raspberries soften.
- Remove from heat, cool slightly, and strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a smooth syrup, discarding solids. Stir in lemon juice if using. Cool completely and store in the refrigerator.
- Assemble Soda: Fill a tall glass generously with ice.
- Pour 1/2 cup of raspberry syrup over the ice.
