Description
A traditional Moroccan dessert made with sweetened couscous, cinnamon, and almonds.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup couscous
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for serving)
Instructions
- In a pot, bring water to a boil.
- Add couscous and stir. Remove from heat and cover for 5 minutes.
- Fluff couscous with a fork.
- Melt butter in a pan and add sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.
- Add fluffed couscous to the pan and mix well.
- Toast almonds in a dry pan until golden.
- Serve the couscous warm, topped with toasted almonds and powdered sugar.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use ghee instead of butter.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
- Serve with a side of honey for drizzling.
