Description
A rich and moist chocolate cake made with sourdough starter.
Ingredients

- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup hot water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the sourdough starter and sugar.
- Add cocoa powder, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Slowly stir in hot water until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before serving.
Notes
- This cake can be frosted with chocolate ganache or dusted with powdered sugar.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
