Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the sourdough starter and sugar.
  3. Add cocoa powder, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Slowly stir in hot water until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool before serving.

Notes

  • This cake can be frosted with chocolate ganache or dusted with powdered sugar.
