Description

Spinach Fatayer are delicious triangular pastries filled with spinach and spices.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sumac
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1 package of ready-made pastry dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add onions and sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in spinach and cook until wilted.
  5. Add salt, pepper, sumac, and pine nuts; mix well.
  6. Roll out the pastry dough and cut into circles.
  7. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
  8. Fold the dough to form a triangle and seal the edges.
  9. Place on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
  • Can be frozen before baking.
