Description

A rich and indulgent dessert made with chocolate and a sticky toffee sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 150g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200g dates, chopped
  • 300ml boiling water
  • 200g toffee sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Soak the chopped dates in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  4. Melt chocolate and butter together.
  5. In a bowl, whisk brown sugar and eggs.
  6. Add melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture.
  7. Fold in flour and baking powder.
  8. Add soaked dates and their water.
  9. Pour into the baking dish.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  11. Serve warm with toffee sauce.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the fridge.
  • Reheat before serving.
