Description

Tandoori Turkey Roast is a flavorful twist on a traditional roast turkey, marinated in a blend of spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (1214 pounds)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori spice mix
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix yogurt, tandoori spice, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, olive oil, and salt.
  3. Rub the marinade all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Let the turkey marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  6. Roast for 2.5 to 3 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  7. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let rest for 20 minutes before carving.
