Description
Turkish Pide with Spiced Lamb is a delicious flatbread topped with seasoned ground lamb, fresh herbs, and spices.
Ingredients

- 500g ground lamb
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- In a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground lamb and cook until browned.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, black pepper, and parsley. Remove from heat.
- Preheat oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Divide dough into equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape.
- Spread lamb mixture on each dough oval, leaving edges uncovered.
- Fold edges of the dough over the filling to create a boat shape.
- Brush the edges with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve hot with yogurt or salad.
- Adjust spices according to your taste.
- You can use beef instead of lamb if preferred.
