Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and mix.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. If using, add red food coloring and mix until desired color is achieved.
  8. Fill cupcake liners with batter, about 2/3 full.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let cool and frost as desired.
