Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a clean bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Add vanilla and almond extracts, mixing gently.
  6. Divide the mixture and add red food coloring to one half.
  7. Using a piping bag, pipe meringue onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until meringues are dry and crisp.
  9. Turn off the oven and let meringues cool inside.
