Ingredients

- 3 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- Red food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Add vanilla and almond extracts, mixing gently.
- Divide the mixture and add red food coloring to one half.
- Using a piping bag, pipe meringue onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until meringues are dry and crisp.
- Turn off the oven and let meringues cool inside.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Use a stand mixer for better results.
- Ensure no yolk is present in the egg whites.
