- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup fish sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the sugar and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Let it cook until it turns amber brown.
- Add the garlic and stir for 30 seconds.
- Add the shrimp and fish sauce. Cook until shrimp is pink.
- Sprinkle with black pepper and green onions before serving.

- Adjust the sweetness by varying the sugar.
